A factory worker quit his job after just one month, claiming a single pimple was caused by chemical exposure at work. The story, shared on Reddit by a coworker, quickly went viral. The employee, known for having flawless skin, cited the breakout as a health issue and cut off all communication, prompting HR to visit his home. Online reactions ranged from disbelief to humor, with some defending his decision and others calling it an excuse to leave the job.

Employee Resigns After Developing Pimple, Blames Workplace Conditions
A factory worker’s resignation over a seemingly minor skin concern has ignited widespread attention online, after he claimed a single pimple was a health issue serious enough to leave his job. The story was shared on Reddit by a colleague and quickly went viral, drawing thousands of reactions for its bizarre nature.

According to the original Reddit post, the company had hired a new employee to work on the manufacturing line. The work included operating machinery in a temperature- and humidity-controlled environment. One part of the job required cleaning the equipment with ethanol, a common industrial cleaning solvent.

"Job description included working with machinery in a temperature and humidity controlled space. The machinery needed to be cleaned with ethanol. That was the extent to which he would be involved with chemical solvents," the employee wrote.

After completing his training, the new hire abruptly sent a message to his trainer, stating he could no longer continue due to health concerns. The reason, however, left everyone stunned.

One Pimple Prompts Exit

"After training the guy for a month, he sent me a text one morning citing health issues due to using chemicals. The health issue was that he got a pimple on his forehead. And he never grew any pimples at all. Therefore it had to be because he was exposed to chemicals during work and he couldn’t work with us any longer," the Redditor continued.

The trainer expressed genuine concern at first, only to find himself blocked on both his cell and office lines. "I was so worried and I couldn’t get a hold of him because he blocked my cell and my office phone number. HR had to send someone to get to his place after three days. He only then told HR that the health issue was a pimple," he explained.

The coworker’s commitment to skin care was apparently well-known. “To be fair, the guy had great glowing skin. Maybe he never did get pimples,” he added.

Internet Reacts With Humor and Confusion

The unusual reason for quitting left Reddit users both amused and baffled. The post, which has received over 6,000 upvotes, drew reactions ranging from sarcastic quips to health-related concerns.

"That's like me saying I got grey hair at a job and I never got grey hair before I had this job. Time to call it quits," joked one user. Another commented, “Bro finally started sweating at work and didn't realize you need to wash your face and do other skincare stuff or else that's what happens lol.”

One user suggested the man was simply looking for an excuse: “Probably the only stupid excuse he could come up with to cover that he is either too lazy for the job or the job sucks.”

Others defended the employee's decision. "More power to him. Looks like he prioritises anything in his health over his job. We should all have that ability," wrote one supporter.

Workplace Safety Not in Question

Despite the odd claim, the original poster assured commenters that the workplace maintained strict safety protocols. Protective gear such as gloves, goggles, masks, aprons, and safety shoes were mandatory. The factory also used filtered ventilation systems to ensure clean air.

“All staff members must have complete protective equipment… This gear is changed frequently,” he stated. He also noted that five other employees had worked in the same conditions for over a year without reporting any health issues.
