IndiGo announces a terminal change at Delhi IGI Airport from April 15; Check before travel

Get ready for changes at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. IndiGo will shift all flights from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 starting April 15, 2025, due to maintenance. IndiGo will operate from Terminal 1 and 3. Akasa Air flights will also move to Terminal 1D. Delhi Airport's upgraded Terminal 1 will be fully operational from April 15.

IndiGo issued a notice on Sunday confirming the shift in operations.
IndiGo Airlines will stop using Terminal 2 at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport from April 15 due to scheduled maintenance work. All flights currently operating from Terminal 2 will move to Terminal 1. The airline will now function from only Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 until further notice.

Flight operations realigned

IndiGo issued a notice on Sunday confirming the shift in operations. “Delhi Terminal 2 is going under maintenance, resulting in all flights being moved to Terminal 1 starting April 15, 2025, until further notice,” the airline said.

To assist passengers, IndiGo will update the list of reassigned flights on its website. “While notifications are being sent to registered contact details via Email and WhatsApp, we're also appending a list of flights that are being reassigned on our website, so you have all the information you need at your fingertips,” IndiGo added.

Other airlines expected to move

Apart from IndiGo, other carriers operating from Terminal 2 are also expected to shift to different terminals. Akasa Air announced that it will now run all its Delhi flights from Terminal 1 (1D) of IGI Airport.

Terminal 1 ready for full operations

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) confirmed that the newly upgraded Terminal 1 will be fully operational starting April 15. “In just 2 days, experience a smarter, more comfortable journey at Delhi Airport’s upgraded Terminal 1. Get ready for smoother travel, better connectivity, and world-class facilities — all under one roof,” DIAL posted on X.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights through the airline or the airport website.
