Rising Pakistani model and actress Mehrunnisa Iqbal recently got married in a simple yet elegant wedding ceremony held at the United Kingdom’s first mosque.

Her wedding comes after viral circulation of photos from her vibrant Mayun celebration. Mehrunnisa has been rising in Pakistan’s showbiz, having initially begun as a model before landing her acting debut in dramas.

Her most prominent work was in the popular drama “Ek Sitam Aur” on ARY Digital, where she played Zonisha, and impressed everyone with her powerful performance. She also received attention for her work in “Bikhre Hain Hum” on HUM TV and has worked in other shows such as “Ishqiya” and “Mere Ban Jao”.

The 27-year-old actress confirmed the news of her marriage in Instagram stories by reposting posts from her friends, but so far has not made a personal post. Her wedding ceremony took place at a mosque in the UK, where Mehrunnisa was seen glaming in an expensive red traditional dress with gold embroidery, complimented by identical jewelry.

Her 25-year-old husband, Zakariya, chose to wear a grey pant coat in lieu of the usual wedding duds. Only close friends and family members witnessed the small wedding, including Shabaz Taseer and Neha Taseer, the son and daughter-in-law of deceased former Punjab governor Salman Taseer.

The couple has been receiving best wishes on social media from fans, celebrities, and acquaintances, with images and clips of the wedding continuing to spread.

Apart from performing, Mehrunnisa is also an active campaigner for social causes, particularly women’s rights, and joins several campaigns.
