In a throwback interview on India’s Most Desirable, hosted by Simi Garewal, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the breakup, alongside a candid pre-recorded message from his mother, Neetu Kapoor. She stated, “I don’t think he’s had many girlfriends. He’s had just one girlfriend and that’s Deepika… Maybe there was something missing in their relationship. Maybe he was not himself and he needed to break off.”
She added that while she never dictates her son’s choices, she doesn’t shy away from voicing her opinion: “If I felt that the girl is not nice, I would just say it in my own way. But it’s up to him.”
Moving On with Grace
Ranbir, reflecting on the breakup, shared, “It’s not a happy emotion. You do feel a sense of vacuum inside… But thankfully, I still speak to them and they are still my friends.” This mature approach to love and heartbreak has been evident in the way both stars have conducted themselves since.
