In 2020 a young entrepreneur from Gurugram Yug Bhatia founded ControlZ which is a company that remakes old smartphones into like-new devices. Now the company has achieved annual turnover of Rs 25 crore. Now they are planning to take this figure to Rs 100 crore. As the CEO and founder of ControlZ Yug Bhatia has revolutionized the way smartphones are refurbished. When a company receives any old phone they first do an inspection. They don’t belive in surface-level repairs but apply a component-level renewal approach. Each part of the phone is examined and any defective components are replaced.  Expert engineers repair or replace critical components like batteries cameras and displays only if needed. The company tries to retain up to 80% of the original parts and ensure that the phone will perform like a brand-new one. ControlZ’s is not only remaking old smartphones but also trying to protect the environment. Manufacturing new phones generates significant carbon emissions which are harmful to the planet. By repairing and reselling old phones reduces this environmental impact. Till now ControlZ has refurbished and sold 60000 smartphones mainly high-end models of brands like Apple and OnePlus. These devices are sold at 60% lower than their new models. ControlZ has its Renew Hub in Gurugram which is surrounded by bamboo trees and features advanced machinery ISO Class 7 cleanrooms and AI-powered diagnostic systems. The company plans to refurbish 600000 smartphones annually. It is establishing a dedicated research department to drive innovation and improve its processes further. With this plan trying to achieve a Rs 100 crore turnover.
