The Philippines, recognized as Asia’s leading beach destination, is anticipating 30 million visitors during the Holy Week from April 13 to 20.
The country’s Department of Tourism revealed that Cebu, Bohol, Boracay, and Palawan will be the top destinations for 2025, as reported by ABS-CBN.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco encouraged tourists to book accommodations at accredited hotels to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay.
These accredited establishments have undergone a comprehensive accreditation process, guaranteeing visitors receive high-quality experiences, Frasco stated.
Holy Week commemorates the seven days leading up to Easter.
To manage the influx, tourism authorities have set up regional operations centers to monitor high-traffic areas and oversee popular destinations.
The number of foreign visitors to the Philippines declined by 0.51% in the first quarter of this year to 1.65 million.
The Philippines, voted “Asia’s leading beach destination” at the 2024 World Travel Awards, targets 8.4 million foreign tourists this year, up more than 55% from last year’s 5.4 million arrivals.
