5.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Afghanistan's Hindukush Region

Afghanistan Earthquake Today: An earthquake hit Afghanistan on Wednesday morning. An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 hit Afghanistan's Hindukush region at around 4:43 AM, as per the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
As per the agency, the earthquake occurred atae depth of 75 km on April 16, 2025.
Meanwhile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said that the quake was of magnitude 5.6 and was at a depth of 121 km (75 miles). The agency said that the epicentre was 164 km east of Baghlan, a city with a population of about 108,000.
Wednesday's earthquake was among the series of tremors that hit Asian regions in recent days.
