On Monday evening, a heartbreaking incident came to light in Gajhar Lakhraj ward number-1 of Triveniganj police station area. A pregnant woman was brutally beaten in a quarrel over grass cutting in a disputed field, killing a six -month -old fetus. The incident has shocked the entire region.

In connection with the incident, it was reported that Ramsundar Mehta's 22 -year -old daughter was present with her mother near the farm. At the same time, neighboring Chandan Mehta and his family were cutting grass in the disputed field. Both sides were already forbidden to enter the field by the administration. When the woman's mother opposed this, the argument increased. Meanwhile, the accused started assaulting the woman's mother. The pregnant woman who came to the rescue was deliberately killed in the stomach.

The victim was brought to a sub -divisional hospital in critical condition, where the unborn baby died during treatment. Treatment was done under the supervision of Dr. Umesh Kumar Mandal, but the baby could not be saved.

Station head Ramsevak Rawat said that an FIR has been lodged against four named accused including Chandan Mehta on the victim's statement, including two women. The police is investigating the case seriously and the early arrest of the accused has been assured.

There is an atmosphere of tension and resentment in the area since the incident. The villagers have demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and strict action from the administration. Weeds are in the victim's house.
