Actress Naeema Butt, who became popular for her strong performance as Rubab in the hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, recently spoke about the reality of fake relationships in showbiz on her visit to a talk show.
Speaking from her own experience, Naeema was dismayed at the way individuals in the business world tend to be fake friends on social media. “I have seen that most people pretend to be close friends on Instagram, but they are not the same in real life as they present themselves on social media,” she stated.
Referring to her co-stars of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, she let on, “They gave it the impression on social media that we were really close, but they did everything else but. There were even instances during public functions when they tried to usher me off the stage.”
Although she did not elaborate further, Naeema added, “The friendship posts you see online — they’re all just for show.”
Her words soon generated buzz on the Internet. Most of her fans praised her candor and appreciated her bravery for sharing her opinion on something usually glossed over. They praised her for being among the few industry voices that were not afraid to call out phony behavior.
While Naeema’s description of Rubab was admired for its bold and fearless tone, her recent disclosures expose the behind-the-scenes struggles she encountered while establishing her career in the limelight.
