PMAY programme 2025: According to Jagran.com, the Muzaffur Municipal Corporation has cancelled the applications of 200 applicants who applied for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in urban areas. These applicants were not qualified to receive the benefits of the plan when it was discovered that they already had pucca dwellings.
Despite repeated warnings, 430 more applicants have been notified that their applications would be rejected for not providing the required papers. There would be no further extensions given, according to an ultimatum from the Municipal Corporation.
Phased applications are being accepted under the PM Awas Yojana (PMAY). Only 343 of the 973 applications submitted in 2023 were found to be legitimate after a protracted review procedure. All four instalments have been given to beneficiaries who have finished their homes.
Following the receipt of the instalment, 68 applicants have not started construction.
It was discovered that 86 recipients had received the first and second instalments without starting to build a home. These people have received warnings from the Municipal Corporation alerting them to the possibility of recovering the allocated sums and facing legal action should they not finish the building.
1,710 Homes Constructed Thus Far
According to Housing Scheme Incharge Rozi Masih, 1,710 homes have been constructed under the program so far, and all recipients have received the entire cost of finished homes. Additionally, she stressed that recipients who do not use the cash for their intended objectives would face severe consequences from the Municipal Corporation.
