Singer Nick Carter of the band Backstreet Boys has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman when she was 19-years-old and giving her sexually transmitted diseases (STD). The STD reportedly led to the woman being diagnosed with cervical cancer later.

According to People, the complainant claimed that Carter forced himself on her in 2005 when she was just 19. In her lawsuit, she revealed that she shared a "sexually intimate relationship" with the pop singer and they had consensual sex three times, but things went south post that.

She alleged that in early 2005, she had visited Carter's apartment to watch a movie with him, but the singer insisted on having sex. Despite her refusal, the singer allegedly forced himself on her, without wearing a condom. When she asked him to put on a condom, he allegedly refused and assured that he was "clean of STDs".

Despite saying "no" multiple times, Carter had sexual intercourse with the complainant and assaulted her on his bed multiple times, she stated in her complaint, adding that she did not open up back then as she was sure no one would believe her.

The complainant said that she visited him once again after a few days when the singer apologised to her for the act, but he sexually assaulted her once again.

The lawsuit claimed that Carter infected the complainant with "various sexually transmitted diseases, including the human papillomavirus (commonly known as HPV)".

Later, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 cervical cancer and she had to undergo several medical procedures and treatments, which took a toll on her physically, mentally and financially.

Carter has now vehemently denied the claims. It is to be noted that this is the fourth sexual assault complaint against the Backstreet Boys singer.
