New Delhi: Former Indian cricket star Zaheer Khan and his actress wife Sagarika Ghatge have welcomed a baby boy into their family. The couple shared this delightful news on Wednesday, posting a black-and-white family portrait on their social media accounts.
In the touching image, Zaheer is seen cradling their newborn, while Sagarika lovingly holds him from behind. They captioned the photo on Instagram, "With love, gratitude, and divine blessings, we welcome our precious little baby boy, Fatehsinh Khan."
The couple's announcement was met with an overwhelming response of love and congratulations from fans, friends, and fellow celebrities.
Actor Angad Bedi expressed his joy with a simple, "Waheguru," while veteran cricketer Harbhajan Singh offered his best wishes, stating, "Congratulations to you both. Waheguru Meher Kare." Suresh Raina also congratulated the couple on their new arrival.
Aakash Chopra added, "Congratulations to both of you. Lots of love and blessings."
Zaheer and Sagarika exchanged vows in November 2017, opting for a court marriage followed by a lavish reception attended by Bollywood stars and Zaheer's teammates on November 27 at Mumbai's Taj Mahal Palace.
Zaheer, who was part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2018 to 2022 as director of cricket and later as head of global development, is currently mentoring the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 season.
Throughout his IPL career, he played 100 matches for three teams over ten seasons, taking 102 wickets with an economy rate of 7.58. His last appearance in the tournament was in 2017 when he captained the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) before retiring from all forms of cricket.
LSG's three-match winning streak came to an end last Saturday with a five-wicket loss to the Chennai Super Kings. They are now looking to rebound against the Rajasthan Royals in their next match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
Currently, LSG holds the fifth position on the IPL points table, with four victories and three defeats from seven matches.
