Gurugram: A serious allegation has emerged from Gurugram, where an air hostess reported being sexually assaulted while on ventilator support in the ICU of a private hospital on April 6, as stated by local police.
The incident was revealed on April 13 when the victim confided in her husband after being discharged from the hospital, prompting him to notify the authorities.
Following her complaint, a case was filed at the Sadar Police Station, and an investigation is currently underway.
The 46-year-old woman had traveled to Gurugram for training and was residing in a hotel. Her health took a turn for the worse due to a drowning incident, leading to her hospitalization.
On April 5, her husband transferred her to another facility in Gurugram for further treatment, and she was released on April 13.
During her stay, while on a ventilator on April 6, she alleges that hospital staff sexually assaulted her. She reported being unable to speak and feeling terrified, as she was unconscious at the time, with two nurses present.
After her discharge, she informed her husband about the assault, who then contacted the police and filed a formal complaint with legal representation.
In response to the victim's allegations, a case has been registered at the Sadar Police Station. A police team has been dispatched to the hospital to review duty rosters and CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators, according to Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar.
The police are actively pursuing the case, having recorded statements from the accused before a magistrate, and are expected to make arrests soon.
The hospital management declined to comment on the situation, and security personnel at the facility claimed ignorance of the incident.
