According to an official announcement released on Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh government is building Naimisharanya in the Sitapur district in the same manner as Ayodhya.

A day before the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth in 2023, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Naimisharanya to meet with the saints and promised that there would be no lack of funding for its advancement.
He had said that an attempt would be made to guarantee that Naimisharanya would be created to an even higher standard than Ayodhya.

The Naimisharanya Tirtha Parishad was established by the government to oversee the pilgrimage site’s planned growth. Between Rajghat and Dashashwamedh Ghat, a new ghat will be constructed. The old ghats are being beautified and refurbished. While some of these are finished, others are still in progress. The local roads are being enlarged.

Lalita Devi, Bhuteshwarnath, and other temples and locations associated with sages and saints are part of the development plan. Basic amenities will be set up for guests’ comfort and security. According to the Chief Minister, both contemporary works and ancient works will be maintained, and the feelings of saints will be honoured.

Soon, a helicopter service will begin to link Naimisharanya with Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Lucknow. On the Thakurnagar Rudravart Dham road, a heliport has been constructed at a cost of Rs 9 crore. Three helicopters may be operated by it simultaneously. Following the fulfilment of the formalities, services will start. According to a release, there will also be improvements to road and rail links.

On the banks of the Gomti River sits Naimisharanya. It is regarded as the 88 thousand sages’ Tapobhoomi. It is believed that here is where the Mahapuranas were composed.

It was here that the narrative of Satyanarayan was first narrated. Here, Lord Ram finished the Ashwamedha Yagya. The location is also associated with Arjuna, Yudhishthira, Luv-Kush, and Maharishi Valmiki. In the Char Dham Yatra, a trip to Naimisharanya is deemed essential.
