Louis Nguyen, the son of luxury retail tycoon Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, and his wife, actress Tang Thanh Ha, recently visited Ba Bar, a newly-opened bar in the Thao Dien area, the largest expat hub in Ho Chi Minh City.
Despite being open for just a month, Ba Bar has gained popularity on social media platforms like Threads, TikTok, and Instagram.
The bar serves coffee from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by alcoholic drinks from 4 p.m. until late at night.
A key feature of the bar is its outdoor patio area, where patrons can enjoy drinks while watching the bustling street scene. The bar’s interior blends jade green tones with warm yellow lights, and includes a corner showcasing antiques such as a timeworn ceramic jar, a porcelain bowl, and memorabilia honoring the grandmother of one of the founders, alongside family history spanning centuries.
In the daytime, Ba Bar offers coffee, matcha, and snacks like meatball sandwiches. After work, diners can enjoy grilled skewers.

The bar’s intimate size makes it ideal for small to moderate groups.
Thao Dien is known for its green spaces, unique cafes, diverse cuisine, and artistic atmosphere. Last October, it was named one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world by Time Out magazine.
Ha, 39, began her entertainment career at 16 and has reduced her on-screen appearances since marrying in 2012.
Louis, 42, is the second son of Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, the founder of IPPG, a luxury retail conglomerate that collaborates with high-end global fashion brands in Vietnam, including Rolex, Chanel, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, and Versace.
