In the meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister and Liberal Party leader Mark Carney demanded that Israel lift its weeks-long blockade of Gaza and for humanitarian relief to reach the beleaguered enclave, as well as an urgent ceasefire.

As the leaders of Canada’s four main parties faced off in their last debate before the country’s general election later this month, he said, “We need to work with our international partners [to exert] maximum pressure, maximum encouragement for an immediate ceasefire [in Gaza].”

Carney called for a “lasting two-state solution” and “the release of all hostages” in addition to “more humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza” in a post on X.

After medical sources confirmed that at least 32 people were killed in Israeli attacks throughout Gaza on Thursday, Al Jazeera reported that a family of 13 had been murdered in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Khan Younis earlier in the day.

In the midst of ongoing and “deliberate” attacks on civilian and humanitarian assistance facilities, Al Jazeera claimed that another family was “wiped out” in a previous Israeli raid on tent shelters in southern Khan Younis.

“One of the worst humanitarian failures of our generation” is how a dozen relief organizations describe Gaza.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, since Israel started its assault on Gaza eighteen months ago, at least 51,065 Palestinians have been proven killed and 116,505 have been wounded, according to Al Jazeera.

Thousands of Palestinians who went missing under the debris are thought to be dead, according to the Gaza Government Media Office, which increased its death toll to nearly 61,700. Al Jazeera claimed that during the October 7, 2023, strikes orchestrated by Hamas, at least 1,139 people were murdered and over 200 were captured in Israel.
