Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) Scheme, millions of farmers across the country get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year. But now a big update has come out, under which farmers will have to complete an important work by April 30, 2025 to get 20th installment. If this work is not done on time, then your installment money can stop. Come, in this article we understand this update in detail and know what you have to do.
Waiting for 20th installment and new rule
Under the PM Kisan Yojana, farmers are given three installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The 19th installment was released in February 2025, and now the 20th installment is awaited, which is expected to come in May or June 2025. But the government has implemented a new rule, under which all the beneficiaries will have to complete the registration for Kisan Pehchan Patra by April 30, 2025. This digital identity card will act like a base and ensure transparency in the plan.
Farmer ID: Why is it necessary?
The objective of the farmer identity card is to remove duplicate beneficiaries and ensure that the benefits of the scheme only reach the eligible farmers. The government saw that some ineligible people, such as income tax payers and high -income people, were taking advantage of this scheme. This new rule will stop such irregularities. If you do not register till this date, then your 20th installment may get stuck. This step will not only further strengthen the plan, but will also help in providing help to the right farmers.
How to register?
It is very easy to register for a farmer identity card. You have to go to your nearest Jan Seva Kendra or village camp in the village, where officials of the Department of Agriculture or Revenue will be present. Take Aadhaar card, land documents, and other identity cards with you. There your registration will be completed through biometric authentication (fingerprint or eye scanning). Apart from this, E-KYC is also mandatory, which you can do through OTP, Biometric, or Face Authentication through PM Kisan Portal or Mobile App.
Why timely action is necessary?
Take the deadline of April 30 seriously, as the government is taking strictness this time. Farmers who have not yet completed e-KYC or registration can stop their installment. Also, if your mobile number or bank account has changed, then update it too. By visiting PM Kisan Portal (PMKISAN.GOV.IN), you can check your registration status and beneficiary status. This will ensure that your Rs 2,000 installment reaches your account directly.
Golden opportunity for farmers
The PM Kisan Yojana has so far given more than Rs 3.46 lakh crore to more than 9.8 crore farmers. This scheme has become a major source of financial stability for small and marginal farmers. But to continue this benefit, you have to take necessary steps like registration and e-KYC on time. If you have not yet enrolled, take advantage of the special registration campaign starting from April 15.
