Despite reports of severe weather, including thunderstorms, rain, hailstorms, and lightning from many districts, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reassured the populace on Friday that the government’s first concern is their safety.
He said that his government’s first concern is still ensuring the safety of its citizens.
The Chief Minister released a statement on the social networking site X with the intention of allaying public fears and describing the state government’s urgent reaction plan.
“Dear residents of the state, numerous districts in the state have reported thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms,” he said. But you don’t have to be concerned. Your government’s first responsibility is ensuring the safety of every state citizen.
District authorities in the impacted regions have been instructed by the chief minister to carry out quick and comprehensive assessments in order to evaluate the damage brought on by the bad weather. In order to guarantee that impacted residents get aid right away, he highlighted the need for swift and efficient relief efforts.
“Instructions have been given to the officers of the districts affected by storm, rain, hailstorm and lightning to survey the area and carry out relief work with full promptness,” he said.
In addition, the Chief Minister has directed police to guarantee appropriate medical care for those hurt and to provide prompt financial support to the families impacted by any livestock or fatality.
CM Yogi further highlighted the need to protect wheat inventories at all government purchase sites, including mandis, in view of the current wheat procurement process.
“Also, in view of the ongoing government purchase of wheat, the officers have been instructed to take full care of safe storage of wheat at all purchase centres, including mandis and assess the damage to the crops and provide a report to the government so that further action can be taken in this regard,” he stated.
Officials have also been urged to give drainage plans in susceptible regions first priority in order to avoid waterlogging and guarantee public comfort. In light of the difficult weather circumstances, the government has mobilised resources to guarantee a prompt response, demonstrating its dedication to safeguarding human life, property, and agricultural assets.
