Pakistan captain Fatima Sana supported the hosts to go undefeated in the Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier after securing their place in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, according to the ICC.

Pakistan qualified for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will take place in India later this year, after a resounding 87-run win against Thailand.

With one game remaining, captain Fatima Sana hopes to end the competition undefeated. The squad has been undefeated during the preliminaries.

“Our team deserves the most praise for our qualification; they provided me with a lot of support and allowed me to lead this squad. After the game, Fatima Sana said, “Hopefully, we will try to win the final match as well and aim to remain unbeaten throughout the qualifiers, finishing at the top of the table,” according to an ICC quote.

While batting first, Pakistan’s innings got off to a poor start, but they managed to reach 205/6 thanks to a strong effort from Sidra Amin and strong lower-order hitting from Fatima Sana.

“The Thailand squad bowled exceptionally effectively against our batting order, so we were under a lot of strain before the 40 overs. However, we began to see openings after the 40th over. Sidra Ameen played quite well during that time, and I had a couple of opportunities to contribute with the bat,” Fatima Sana added.

“What matters most is that she remained at the crease and completed the innings. She played wisely when we were simply trying to live, even though I know some people would have felt the run pace was a little sluggish. For us, it was crucial that she remained on the ground and kept the innings together,” she said.

The captain then joined forces with Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu to lead from the front with the ball. The three took three wickets each, guaranteeing the Qualifier hosts’ qualification and a resounding win.

Pakistan have now won all four of their tournament games with this victory.

The Nigar Sultana Joty-led team will now play their last tournament match against Bangladesh on April 19 at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground in an attempt to qualify for the major event in India later this year.
