Following the success of Sky Force, Akshay Kumar is back in action with Kesari Chapter 2, a historical court drama alongside R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the movie opened to good reviews and a good start at the box office. The movie is aided by the Good Friday holiday, which has provided the much-needed boost to ticket sales.
As per early Sacnilk reports, the movie clocked a morning occupancy of 12.67%, beating Akshay’s earlier 2025 release Sky Force, which had reported 10.26% on opening morning. This represents a 23% jump, showing a stronger pull among audience for Kesari Chapter 2.
Of the recent Bollywood releases, Kesari Chapter 2 has also proved to be the most popular among moviegoers, much to the dismay of the response garnered by Sunny Deol’s Jaat. Though Chhaava remains the best opening day occupancy of 2025 with a figure of over 30%, Akshay’s film confidently occupies a close second spot, leaving several other big releases this year in the backdrop.

With a good opening and holiday boost, the movie is placed to breach the ₹15 crore mark on the first day, as long as the momentum is maintained through evening and night shows. Everyone is now waiting with bated breath to see how the day pans out, since evening footfalls will play an important role in deciding the ultimate day one tally.
If the trend is any indication, Kesari Chapter 2 may turn out to be one of Akshay Kumar’s best openers in recent history, reaffirming his box office pull and paving the way for a prosperous theatrical run.
