In Hinduism, Chardham Yatra has been considered extremely sacred and salvation. Every year millions of devotees participate in this divine journey, in which they earn religious virtues by visiting the 4 major Dham- Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath of Uttarakhand. In the year 2025, this journey is bringing special opportunities for devotees.
Chardham Yatra 2025 will begin on 30 April from the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. This is the same day when the doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham will be duly opened. After this, the doors of Kedarnath Dham on May 2 and Badrinath Dham on May 4 will be opened for devotees. Chardham Yatra traditionally begins with Yamunotri. In 2025, this journey will begin on 30 April on the day of Akshaya Tritiya in the auspicious time. The doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri will be opened for devotees at 10:30 am.
Kedarnath Dham- The doors of Kedarnath Dham located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand will be opened on 2 May 2025 at 7 am. This dham is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered to be the most prominent of the Panch Kedars.
Badrinath Dham- The last and most grand stop of Chardham Yatra is Badrinath. This Dham is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is called one of the 'Sapt Vaikunths'. On 4 May 2025, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened to the devotees.
According to the scriptures, by traveling Chardham, all the sins of a person are destroyed and he gets salvation free from the cycle of birth and death. This journey not only gives spiritual peace but also inspires the person towards spiritual force and spiritual progress.
Badrinath Dham is considered to be the resting place of Lord Vishnu, where he resides for 6 months. All the defects of life are considered to be prevented by worshiping here. At the same time, Kedarnath Dham is the main Dham of Lord Shiva. It is a sacred place in the lap of the Himalayas where Lord Shankar rests. There are two mountains named Nar and Narayan, which are considered extremely revered from the mythological point of view.
