IPL 2025 Updated Points Table Following RCB vs. PBKS: In Friday’s rain-shortened Indian Premier League encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Punjab Kings beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets.
Following a postponed start due to nighttime rains, the match was shortened to 14 overs per side. Tim David, who batted first, hit a counterattacking fifty off 26 balls to lead RCB to 95 for nine. Nehal Wadhera scored a quick 33 off 19 balls as PBKS finished the chase in 12.1 overs. Despite Josh Hazlewood’s outstanding bowling performance (3/14) for RCB, his effort was insufficient.
In the past, RCB lost wickets often, with the visiting side suffering most of the damage from players like Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Arshdeep Singh.
This was the third loss for RCB at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium this season, continuing their dismal home record. With four victories and eight points from seven games, they are now ranked fourth in the IPL 2025 points standings. With their sixth victory of the season, Punjab, on the other side, had returned to form and surged to second place.
