Darbhanga: The Torch Glory Journey arrived in Darbhanga as part of the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 Torch Tour program. Additional Collector Rakesh Kumar and District Sports Officer Parimal jointly gave the torch to Rajeev Raushan, the District Magistrate for Darbhanga, in order to obtain permission for district publicity.
On behalf of the Darbhanga district government, the District Magistrate greeted the Patna team and granted permission. According to him, the goal of this awareness campaign is to highlight athletes and sports, which are being promoted by both the federal and state governments.
All players then received a thorough presentation on the history of the Games at Polo Ground via the Torch Glory Journey vehicle. The purpose of this torch trip is to increase public awareness of the event.
The Khelo India Youth Games 2025 will be held in Bihar for the first time. A public awareness campaign aims to motivate young people and introduce them to sports. Over 500 sportsmen from a variety of sports and representatives from sports associations recited the catchphrase “Khel ke Rang Bihar ke Sang” (The Colors of Sports with Bihar) and extended a hearty welcome at the Nehru Stadium Polo Ground. Kids also swore to make athletics a part of their life.
The District Sports Officer said that the Khelo India Torch Glory Journey advertising truck would go throughout the city, raising awareness of the issue, before departing for Saharsa early tomorrow.
Bihar is proud to be holding the Khelo India Youth Games for the first time, according to Darbhanga Sports Officer Parimal. The administration is doing all it can to ensure the success of this event. The Torch Glory Journey is being planned in this context. The genuine Khelo India torch, outfitted with LED displays and audio-visual marketing materials, will visit every Bihar district between April 15 and May 2 before returning to Patna by the evening of May 2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will ignite the torch to officially launch the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 at Pataliputra Sports Complex on May 4.
The District Kabaddi Association Secretary Akalakur Rahman, the District Kho-Kho Association Secretary Rameshankar Chaudhary, the Volleyball Association Secretary Brijesh Kumar Singh, the Wushu Association Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, the District Athletics Association Secretary Yashpal Kumar, and employees of the District Sports Office Sanjeev Kumar, Baldev Kumar, and Rakesh Kumar Singh, along with senior athletes Satyam Kumar, Keshav Kumar, Sitare Hasan, Shoaib Khan, and others, helped make today’s Torch Glory Journey a success.
