Hyderabad, India April 2025: Mivi, the Hyderabad-based consumer electronics brand, is preparing to launch its much-anticipated Mivi AI, a voice-first digital assistant integrated into its upcoming AIBuds. The company has confirmed that the AI assistant will be offered in a freemium model, combining free access with optional paid features, much like Google Gemini or OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus.
Mivi AI is designed to deliver a screen-free and hands-free voice assistant experience. Users can ask questions, engage in natural conversations with AI avatars, receive news briefings, and get recommendations like recipes—all without needing to touch their phone. However, two essential components are required:
Mivi AIBuds The only earbuds that currently support Mivi AI.
Mivi Audio App The official mobile companion app required for AI functionality.
Although the assistant functions without a display, the companion app will offer a text-based interface to store and review past conversations, not to interact with the AI directly.
Free to Use, With Premium Features on the WayMivi has confirmed that Mivi AI will be free to all users who purchase the compatible AIBuds. However, in line with industry trends, a freemium subscription tier will also be introduced. This premium version is expected to unlock additional features, expanded AI capabilities, or exclusive voice avatars, although specific benefits are yet to be detailed.
A Made-in-India AI Model Trained on Diverse Audio DataIn a major highlight, Mivi revealed that its AI assistant is completely in-house developed, with no external large language model integrations. The company trained the AI on thousands of proprietary datasets, including voice samples across various Indian and global accents, tones, and high-noise environments.
Thanks to this extensive training, Mivi AI is optimized for outdoor use, capable of accurately detecting user voice commands in challenging real-world audio conditions, like traffic or busy public spaces.
