Tim David, a batsman for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), believes his team has to come up with a strategy for playing at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium after losing there for the third time in a row on Friday.

To maintain their winless record at the location for the IPL 2025 season, Punjab Kings beat RCB by five wickets. RCB suffered their 46th loss at the location, the most of any IPL team to date.

David led the team to 95/9 in 14 overs with a half-century of 26 balls, five fours, and three sixes after the innings had a disastrous start due to rain.

Nehal Wadhera’s 33 not out, which included three sixes and as many fours, helped the Punjab Kings overcome early deficits to win the match handily with 11 balls remaining.

“In every game we’ve played so far, we’ve encountered various circumstances. It was hard to predict how the pitch would perform tonight because of the rain and the fact that it was covered. At home, we haven’t performed well. To figure out a strategy and win a few games, we must locate a template. We have to get back together fast since we’re playing Punjab,” David said at the post-game press conference.

The Australian, who won Player of the Match, supported team management’s choice to put him at No. 7 despite describing the conditions as challenging to bat on.

“Batting on that deck didn’t seem very simple. I’m at a loss for words. I believe that the lads who were batting up informed me of the situation. I had an opportunity to observe the pitcher’s actions. The practice pitches were comparable. looked for a way to play under these circumstances. There is a reason why our management and coaching staff assembled the team. I feel like I’m hitting well right now, and I’m very happy about it. “I trust the coaches to put me where I can score, but I can contribute,” he stated.

“I will try to support my side if I get the chance to bat up. Sometimes it doesn’t come off when you’re trying too hard. Sometimes it has been difficult to bat alongside the bowlers and form a partnership here in Bangalore. It was challenging tonight. You have to take some precautions,” David said.

With eight points from seven games, RCB is now in fourth place in the standings. On Sunday, they will play the Punjab Kings in the rematch at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh.
