UPI IDs: The National Payments Corporation of India i.e. NPCI is going to bring new facilities to make UPI payment easier for customers. Now users will be able to save while making online payment like credit and debit cards. Through new facilities, people can now save their UPI ID on any online shopping or service platform.
The biggest advantage of this will be that now the ID will not have to be given again and again while making UPI payment and it will reduce the payment time. This service will work in such a way that a platform user in online saves the details of their credit or debit card. Currently a customer usually chooses the UPI app and then the account through which he wants to pay when checking out on the e-commerce site. NPCI users are being planned to store their UPI ID at merchant checkpoints.
Before launching this facility, NPCI will have to get approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Through this facility, users do not need to fill the complete information of the card while paying on the website every time. If the facility of saving UPI ID is approved, then payment from UPI will be equal to card payment. The UPI handle can be saved on popular merchant sites such as ecommerce platform, travel booking application, food delivery app and Quick Commerce Platform.
