According to The Starin an interview with media personality Wong Man Ling, Ip reflected on her financial progress, stating that her life has improved significantly since becoming an influencer.

The beauty queen recalled her humble beginnings, sharing a story about the contrast between her past living conditions and her current success.

“I remember laying on the bed on the first night of moving into my new home and was struck at how the mattress was bigger than the entire place I used to live in 20 years ago,” she said, remembering her former “subdivided flat.”

She attributes her success in the live streaming world to a combination of timing, opportunity, and hard work. However, she revealed that her journey wasn’t without challenges. Ip shared that she experienced a significant financial setback two years ago after “trusting the wrong person,” but she has since bounced back and continues to thrive in her new career.

At 44, Ip also competed in the 2005 Miss World and 2006 Miss Chinese International pageants. Following her Miss Hong Kong victory, she signed with broadcasting network TVB, where she worked as an actress and TV host until she left in 2017.
