Obnews Automobile Desk: In today's era, the use of smartphones is not only limited to call or chatting, but now it can also save your challan from cutting. Yes, with the help of two government apps released by the Government of India – mparivahan and Digilocker – you can protect your driving license and other important documents in digital form and can show anywhere when needed.
Physical driving license is no longer required while driving under the government's new digital service, provided you have its digital version in MParivahan or Digilocker app. Both these apps are completely valid and the Supreme Court and the Central Government have given legal recognition to the documents stored in them.
The Digilocker app has been developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity). This app is linked to your Aadhaar card and you can save a digital copy of driving license, Aadhaar, PAN card, and other important documents in it. If the traffic police asks for documents, you can avoid the invoice by showing a store driving license in this app.
The MParivahan app has been launched by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. This app not only shows digital driving license, but also provides vehicle registration, insurance, fitness certificate and other information.
If you enter your driving license number in the MParivahan app, then the app itself prepares your profile and shows its digital version.
