Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, is now in Delhi, where he has met with a number of Union ministers to discuss a range of state-related matters. Notably, the approaching Rajya Sabha by-elections and the open seat created by Vijayasai Reddy’s departure were the main topics of conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
It has been reported that a decision has been made to fill this vacancy, and the deadline for nominations is this month’s 29th. Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, Beeda Mastan Rao, R Krishnaiah, and Vijayasai Reddy are the four YSR Congress Party Rajya Sabha members who have resigned so far. Three of these seats have already been filled; the BJP appointed R Krishnaiah, while the TDP chose Sana Satish and Beeda Mastan Rao.
Filling the fourth seat was the major topic of conversation between the Telugu Desam Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party today. Later today or tomorrow, a formal statement on the matter’s settlement is anticipated.
