With the release of his first Tamil film, Amaran, last year, actor Rohman Shawl established a new persona. In the Siva Karthikeyan-starring biographical drama, the actor portrayed the antagonist Asifwani. The film was filmed in the valley area of Kashmir. In 2022, the actor filmed for the Rajkumar Periaswamy film.
Even though I grew up in Nainital, Kashmir has always been more than just a location to me; it’s where my origins are. In light of the latest terror assault in Kashmir, Rohman Shawl reflected on his relationship with the valley and stated, “Every trip back feels like a quiet reunion with my own soul.”
Amaran, Rohman’s first Tamil film, was filmed in the valley. “During our recent shoot, I felt nothing but warmth, love, and an overwhelming sense of belonging—not just from the people, but from the land itself,” he added, reflecting on his experience. That’s why yesterday night’s events are so incredibly tragic.”
Shawl emphasised how the people of Kashmir would overcome this tragic event while denouncing the assault in the valley. “The visitors who were assaulted came looking for connection, beauty, and tranquillity, but instead they encountered something terrible and undeserving. We all bear this loss, not just as Kashmiris but as people in general. My thoughts and prayers are with their families as well as the whole valley. Because I believe Kashmir will rise again, even in its quiet today—grieving, certainly, but never shattered,” he said.
Regarding the terror attack in Pahalgam
In the meadow known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ due to its tranquil beauty, a gang of terrorists shot and killed male tourists Tuesday afternoon while they were strolling around restaurants, riding ponies, or just having a picnic with their families, according to ANI.
Sketches of three persons thought to have been engaged in the horrific incident have been made public by security officials. According to authorities, the three are Abu Talha, Suleman Shah, and Asif Fauji, all of whom are Pakistanis. They said that the survivors’ descriptions of the assailants were used to assist in constructing the drawings. The incident was claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF), a covert organisation of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organisation, which is located in Pakistan.
