Chennai Super Kings performance in the Indian Premier League 2025 has been disappointing so far. The team has won only two of their first eight matches, while in the remaining matches it has lost. So far, CSK has been able to succeed only against Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants.
However, amid the poor performance of the team, Franchise CEO Kashi Vishwanathan has clarified that the management does not feel any kind of nervousness. He said that we are not performing as expected, but we are constantly trying to improve. We never put pressure on the team because it is not a part of our way of working.
The season was started by CSK with a win against Mumbai, but after this the team suffered defeat in five consecutive matches, including three defeats on the home ground. This is the first time. After the injury of captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni took over the command of the team again, but till now the team has not been able to perform a special performance under his leadership.
When the CEO was questioned about Dhoni's captaincy, he said that it does not depend on only one person. The team will have to unite and show better games. Dhoni will take decisions in the interest of the team and our job as management is to support the players, not to criticize.
Chennai's playoff hopes are still alive, but for this the team will now have to win all the remaining six matches. If the CSK is able to do so, it can make it to the final four with 16 digits.
