Obnews Tech Desk: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is ready to make its strong hold once again across the country. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently announced that by March 2025, 1 lakh 4G towers of BSNL will be set up across the country. Of these, 80,000 towers will be activated only by October 2024. Along with this, the government is working fast towards starting 5G service through the current 4G infrastructure.

As soon as private companies like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea made their recharge plans expensive, a large number of customers started turning to BSNL. More than 2.17 lakh new customers joined BSNL only during July 2024 in Andhra Pradesh. This is not only a proof of BSNL's growing popularity, but also has a great hope of increasing market share in future.

Due to the sudden rise in demand for BSNL, there is a huge crowd at its retail stores. There are queues of those taking SIM cards, due to which service is not available on time. While solving this problem, BSNL has started the facility of SIM delivery sitting at home in 90 minutes. In this, the KYC is completed at home and the sim is also activated there.
