At a Cabinet meeting held by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday, 34 recommendations were adopted.
Among the most significant rulings were the administrative and disciplinary dismissals of Vijay Kumar, the former Executive Officer of Barbidha, and Raman Rai, the former Circle Officer of Sikta Zone (West Champaran), who is presently the Assistant Settlement Officer in Kishanganj.
Additionally, 663 non-technical positions for 71 offices of the Integrated Urban Engineering Organization under the Urban Development Department have been authorized by the Cabinet.
These positions would cost the government Rs 35.27 crore a year and are intended to maintain seamless operation.
The Bihar Special Survey and Settlement Amendment Rules, 2025, have been approved by the Cabinet.
The administration of land and income may be impacted by this.
Additionally, 40 additional positions—34 permanent and 6 contract—have been approved for the Advocate General’s Office.

The Cabinet has authorized 104 positions for Additional District Land Acquisition Officers and 81 positions for Revenue Officer-cum-Kanungo (Land Acquisition) at the Revenue and Land Reforms Department in order to expedite infrastructure and development projects.
