New Delhi: On Friday, Alok Kumar, the president of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), urged for the incorporation of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) into India and called for an end to terrorism supported by Pakistan.
The VHP, along with its youth wing, Bajrang Dal, organized protests across the nation in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where they burned effigies symbolizing 'jihadi terrorism and sinful Pakistan.'
The attack, which occurred at a popular tourist destination in Pahalgam, resulted in the deaths of at least 26 individuals, primarily tourists, and left many others injured.
During a protest at Jantar Mantar, Kumar stated, 'The time has come to liberate the world from terrorism sponsored by Pakistan and to reclaim PoK from the grip of jihadis, merging it with India.'
He praised the Indian government's 'tough diplomatic measures' following the Pahalgam attack, claiming they have left Pakistan isolated on the global stage.
Kumar emphasized India's capability to dismantle any anti-India entities worldwide, including those in Pakistan, asserting that the country must now prepare for consequences due to its actions.
He further alleged that the Pahalgam attack was orchestrated by terrorists backed by Pakistan, aimed at undermining the economic growth and prosperity of Kashmir.
'The prosperity of the Kashmiri people relies heavily on tourism, and attempts to sabotage this industry through such attacks will not prevail,' he remarked.
In Rohtak, Haryana, VHP joint general secretary Surendra Jain described the Pahalgam incident as a significant threat to the 'sovereignty of the nation and Hindu society.'
'The government has begun addressing the challenges posed from across the border, and we are confident that positive outcomes will soon follow,' he stated.
Jain called for unity among the populace, urging them to support security forces and remain vigilant.
According to a statement from VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal, 'Intellectuals and notable figures from various social, religious, and cultural organizations participated in protests nationwide, all echoing the same demand: it is time to eradicate the jihadi terrorist groups in the country and deliver a stern message to Pakistan.'
