Jammu and Kashmir Service and Selection Board i.e. JKSSB has taken out bumper recruitment of junior engineers in Public Works (R&B) and Jal Shakti departments, the notification of which has been released. According to the notification, these recruitments have come out for a total of 508 posts for Junior Engineer (Civil). The online application process for this will start on 5 May 2025 and will end on 3 June 2025.
When the application process starts, eligible and interested candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of JKSSB jkssb.nic.in. Jammu and Kashmir Service and Selection Board will issue a separate notification on the website about the date and place/center of the examination.
Vacancy Details
Out of 508 vacant posts under the PWD (R&B) and Jal Shakti Department, 150 posts are to be filled under various posts in the Public Works (R&B) Department, while the remaining 358 posts are to be filled under Jal Shakti Department.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Prescribed Qualification: Candidates having 3 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized Institute/Degree of an Indian University in Civil Engineering are eligible for both departments.
Candidates willing to apply for these posts must be residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and must also have a valid residence certificate issued by the competent authority before the last date of online application.
Age Limit: The age for these posts will be calculated as of 1st January 2025 for Open Merit and various reserved categories. The maximum age limit for Open Merit (OM) and Government Service/Contractual Employment is 40 years, the age limit for Ex-Servicemen and Physically Handicapped Persons is 48 and 42 years respectively, while the maximum age limit for SC/ST/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/ALC/IB/EWS/OBC is 43 years.
What is the application fee?
Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 600 to complete their application. Similarly, the fee for candidates belonging to SC/ST/ST-1/ST-2/EWS and PwBD categories has been fixed at Rs 500. The fee can be paid through online mode i.e. net banking, credit or debit card.
What is the exam pattern?
Objective-type multiple-choice questions will be asked in the examination for these posts. The questions will be in English only and there will be negative markings in it. The paper for Junior Engineer (Civil) will be 120 marks and 120 minutes will be given for it.
