Reaching out to its alumni worldwide and providing them with a platform is one of the main activities that Andhra University concentrates on, even as it prepares for a year-long centennial celebration.

The varsity authorities are planning to start a vigorous social media campaign and a membership enrollment push in order to make this a reality. Since its founding in 1926, the esteemed Andhra University has seen thousands of students continue their studies in a variety of fields. But just a small percentage of them belong to the alumni organization. AU Vice Chancellor GP Raja Sekhar has developed an action plan to get the others on board. The VC claims that the goal is not just to use their services but also to improve Andhra University’s reputation. Former students who have not yet joined the Andhra University Alumni Association (AAA) are drawn in by the year-long festivities planned as part of the varsity’s centennial celebrations.

In addition to social media and the student network, a QR (quick response) code will be distributed for the alumni enrollment process so that those who live in various countries may join the organization. Alumni may access an application form to complete in order to join the organization as soon as the QR code is scanned. A number of prior students have graduated from the esteemed Andhra University.

Professionally, the majority of them are settled. Few of them know how to contact the varsity, despite their want to support their old institution. Through the social media effort, we want to close this gap,” the venture capitalist tells The Hans India. A number of former AU students claim to have played a significant part in the varsity’s growth and to have generously contributed to the centennial festivities. The VC acknowledges their sincere efforts and says that the curtain-raising ceremony at the AU Convention Centre on Saturday will showcase their commitment to academic advancement and infrastructural improvement.

By bringing in previous students from across the globe, AU hopes to use their extensive professional expertise by linking them with relevant departments and including them in the campus’s infrastructure development.
