Rahul Sharma the co-founder of Micromax and the son of a school teacher is ready to challenge Mukesh Ambani’s dominance in the business world. He has played a big role in the Indian smartphone market. Sharma is now going to enter in the OTT and AI hardware sectors. Rahul Sharma is also the husband of popular actress Asin. Micromax’s New Plan Micromax  was a big player in the smartphone industry. But now Rahul Sharma has announced plans for Micromax to focus on the OTT and AI hardware sectors. Reliance Industries head Mukesh Ambani is already in this sector as his JioHotstar platform is earning good revenues.  Micromax’s re-entry into this business can challenge Mukesh Ambani’s business. Rahul Sharma is trying to introduce a content app that will integrate multiple OTT streaming platforms which can disrupt the content sector. According to media reports discussions are ongoing with companies from China and other nations to make this possible. Micromax’s OTT Plans Economic Times reports that Micromax is developing a new content app that will host multiple OTT platforms together. Mukesh Ambani’s Jio with its partnerships and platforms like JioHotstar already competing in this industry. Micromax’s entry in this space can create more competitors for Jio which offers multiple content on the same platform. Micromax Into AI Hardware Micromax is also preparing to enter the AI hardware market. The company plans to make custom-made memory and storage solutions for AI data centers. For this Micromax is reportedly in talks with a leading memory chip manufacturer in Taiwan. Micromax’s manufacturing arm Bhagwati has acquired Vivo’s mobile phone factory in Greater Noida. This facility will be used for manufacturing mobile phones IT hardware and automotive components through a joint venture with ODM. Although the name of the ODM partner has not been disclosed this venture may improve Micromax’s manufacturing capabilities.
