Liam Rosenior looks set to stay at Strasbourg with BlueCo, who also own Chelsea, rewarding him for a stellar Ligue 1 season by agreeing a new contract. Currently sitting seventh in the table and having not lost since early February, Strasbourg are firmly in the race to secure Champions League football for next season.

Chelsea duo Andrey Santos and Djorde Petrovic, both on loan from the Blues, have been key to their success, with former player Diego Moreira also now plying his trade in France.

Brighton's Valentin Barco and Andrew Omobamidele of Nottingham Forest, also at the French club on a temporary basis, have been impressive, but the two stars contracted to Chelsea have particularly shone.

As for Petrovic, he has kept seven clean sheets in the last two-and-a-half months, with many wanting him back as the No.1 goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge ahead of Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen.

While the squad have been impressive, the impact of Rosenior cannot go unnoticed, especially after he was dismissed from Championship side Hull City, who could be relegated to League One this weekend, for not making last season's play-offs.

However, a return to England looks unlikely following the latest update.

According to transfer guru , Rosenior has signed a new contract at Strasbourg until 2028, with BlueCo deciding to offer him an extension and improved salary.

Meanwhile at Chelsea, Enzo Maresca has faced some criticism in recent weeks, but the 1-0 win over Everton last weekend helped take the pressure off. The Blues are also in the Conference League semi-final, but the focus will likely be on finishing in the top five.

Currently, they occupy the final spot, but Nottingham Forest can change that if they avoid defeat against Brentford this Thursday.

One potentially huge dilemma for Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, though, is if both Strasbourg and Chelsea finish in a Champions League qualification spot, as UEFA rules prohibit clubs

However, it is quite clear it is handed on a case-by-case basis, with Manchester City and Girona both playing Champions League football this season.
