The Thakurani Yatra, a significant biennial festival in Berhampur, Odisha, wrapped up on Tuesday with the return of the idol of Goddess Budhi Thakurani to her temple. This vibrant celebration commenced on April 3.
On Monday night, thousands participated in the procession, which began at Desibehera Street, where a temporary structure symbolizing the goddess's paternal home was erected.
The ceremonial activities continued until 9:30 AM, marking a festive atmosphere.
To ensure safety and manage the large crowd, approximately 11 platoons of police, along with 50 officers, were deployed, according to officials.
Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M confirmed that the event proceeded without any incidents.
