“Happy Gujarat Day to all the sisters and brothers of Gujarat, renowned for its varied natural resources, historical and cultural heritage, and hospitality,” he said in a post on X. Gujarat’s talent, diligence, and practical abilities have long drawn individuals from all over the globe. From the Bhakti movement to the liberation struggle and present times, Gujaratis have made groundbreaking contributions to the development of their country, and I pray to Dada Somnath for their continuous advancement and well-being.

In honor of the state’s rich history and accomplishments, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also sent heartfelt wishes to all Gujaratis on Gujarat State Foundation Day, often referred to as “Gujarat Gaurav Diwas.”

Emphasizing the importance of Gujarat Gaurav Diwas this year, Patel unveiled a plan to designate the years 2025–2035 as the “Utkarsh Gujarat Diamond Festival,” which would culminate in the Diamond Jubilee of Gujarat’s creation in 2035.

“Best wishes to all Gujaratis on the occasion of Gujarat State Foundation’ Day—’Gujarat Gaurav Diwas,'” the Gujarat chief minister said in his X post. Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shyamji Krishna Varma, Ravi Shankar Maharaj, Induchacha, and Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi are among the public workers who called Gujarat their home. Every Gujarati has made a contribution to the state’s rich history and achievements. This day honors all of the proud Gujaratis who helped shape Gujarat, both well-known and lesser-known.

“Gujarat Gaurav Diwas this year is a pathfinder for us,” he said. Ten years later, in 2035, we will commemorate Gujarat’s founding with the Diamond Festival. A plan to commemorate the full decade from 2025 to 2035 as the “Utkarsh Gujarat Diamond Festival” has been devised. The goal of the Diamond Festival is to commemorate Gujaratis and celebrate their rich cultural heritage in a public setting.

Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the chief minister also praised Gujarat as a driver of national progress and promised to create a developed Gujarat.

“Gujarat has emerged as a national economic engine and role model under the leadership of Hon. Modi Ji. We are now committed to creating a developed Gujarat for a developed India under his direction. We shall propel Gujarat to its greatest level of development with the combined efforts and public awareness of all Gujaratis. In a post, he wrote, “Hail, hail, proud Gujarat.”

In remembrance of the founding of Gujarat and Maharashtra, May 1 is observed as the foundation day. The Bombay Reorganization Act, which went into force on May 1, 1960, caused the state of Bombay to be divided, leading to the creation of Gujarat and Maharashtra in 1960.
