On May 11, Lucknow will mark a major milestone in the defence industry when BrahMos missile manufacture begins in the city. On the same day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will officially launch the Defence Node and the Brahmos Aerospace Project.
Manoj Kumar Singh, the chief secretary, inspected the Brahmos Aerospace Project and the Defence Node in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor at Bhatgaon on Wednesday. The Brahmos Aerospace Project and Defence Node in Lucknow will formally open on May 11th, the Chief Secretary informed. The Lucknow Defence Node will also see the opening of new facilities built by Aerospace Technologies Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defence’s DPSU will lay the cornerstone for its Defence Testing Infrastructure System (DTIS) plan. The Defence Corridor’s industries will be able to test their materials, enhance their goods, and make certification easier for marketing thanks to the DTIS facility.
Chief Secretary Singh underlined that Uttar Pradesh is proud of this occasion because it raises the state’s prestige internationally and generates a large number of job prospects. Production of the famed Brahmos missile, which is famous for its force and accuracy, will start in Lucknow after the inauguration.
Brahmos was previously given 80 hectares of land for free in December 2021, and the project is expected to start operating in less than three and a half years. Furthermore, 20 hectares of land were given to Aeroloy Technology, whose Rs 320 crore first phase investment is almost finished. This company’s goods are used in important projects, including fighter planes and the Chandrayaan expedition.
