area authorities in Kishangunj, Bihar, said that the cross-border infiltration of Bangladeshis into their area is a fact after inquiries about the domicile status of instructors and students at a Madarasa in Jinnaram, Medak district, Telangana, were made.

“The district administration has not received any request from the State or any district of Telangana seeking verification of anyone claiming Kishangunj as their domicile,” Ravi Shankar Tiwari, the Kishangunj District Child Protection Officer, told The Hans Inida.

Furthermore, the antecedents of Kishanganj’s domicile claims would be confirmed, and any request from Telangana authorities will be treated seriously.

“The Kishangunj district is known as ‘chicken’s neck’ due to its narrow geographical area surrounded by Araria district in the west, Purnia district in the south-west, Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal on the east, and Darjeeling district of West Bengal and Nepal on the north,” another district official said in response to a question concerning the infiltration of Bangladeshis into the district and their subsequent freedom to spread to other parts of the country. Bangladesh is separated from West Bengal by a slender, about 20-kilometer-wide strip.

However, the Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal, which borders Bangladesh, is mostly responsible for the issue. Fake voter cards, Aadhaar cards, and other papers are widely available in places like Islampur, Uttar Dinajpur, where infiltrators may claim Indian identity.

Once voter IDs, Aadhaar, and other identity cards are issued, they cannot be revoked. Even when it was attempted, it became a huge scandal that included the authorities. It is difficult to confirm that everyone is traveling from West Bengal without particular information,” he said.

But Telangana authorities may take action, Tiwari added. We will confirm the statements of the instructors and children who claim to be from Kishangunj if we get a request from the police or a child welfare authority. To determine their domicile, the members of the Telangana and Kishangunj child welfare committees might, if needed, examine and, if needed, bring before the committee. because child trafficking, a major crime, may also be a part of the infiltration. But “we need a formal request from our Telangana counterparts,” Tiwari said.

Meanwhile, in sensitive regions close to the border between India and Nepal, the Yogi Adityanath administration of Uttar Pradesh has launched a vigorous drive against unauthorized encroachments and unrecognized madrassas.

When questioned, a senior official said that bulldozers were used to remove several unauthorized religious buildings and encroachments in these regions for the fourth day in a row, ending Thursday.

Unrecognized madrassas were also singled out and closed. He continued by saying, “Hundreds of illegal encroachments have been removed to date as part of the efforts to strengthen law and order as well as being viewed as a strategy to mitigate potential illegal activities across the border.”
