Suriya’s much-anticipated gangster drama Retro, co-starring Pooja Hegde, opened to a massive response at the box office but saw a significant dip on Day 2. According to early estimates by sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹7.5 crore across all languages on Friday, bringing its total two-day India nett collection to ₹26.5 crore.
The film had a thunderous start with ₹19.25 crore on Day 1, marking the biggest opening in Suriya’s career. However, the Day 2 numbers reflect a steep drop. Comparatively, his previous release Kanguva collected ₹33 crore in two days, slightly ahead of Retro.
Despite the drop, the film may bounce back with the help of the extended weekend.
