Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has brought in Harsh Dubey as a substitute for Smaran Ravichandran, who is out for the rest of IPL 2025 due to an injury. Dubey, an all-rounder from Vidarbha, is joining SRH for Rs 30 lakh. He has impressive stats with 127 wickets and 941 runs from 16 T20s, 20 List A, and 18 First-Class matches. Dubey recently won the player of the tournament award in Vidarbha for his performance in the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy, where he took 69 wickets and scored 476 runs.

Before IPL 2025, Dubey also trialed with Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, and SRH. Interestingly, Smaran had just signed with SRH last month as a replacement for the injured Adam Zampa at the same base price of Rs 30 lakh. Smaran, who represents Karnataka, has played seven first-class matches, scoring over 500 runs at an average of 64.50, including a double century against Punjab. He’s also had a solid List A career, with 433 runs at an average of 72.16 from 10 games, including two centuries, and 170 runs in six T20 matches at a strike rate of 170.

Smaran was a standout player in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, amassing 433 runs in seven innings with a good strike rate, and he shone in the final, scoring 101 off 92 balls to help Karnataka win the title. As for SRH, they’re struggling to stay in the tournament with only three wins in 11 matches and are set to play against the struggling Delhi Capitals on Monday evening in hopes of turning their season around.
