Former Indian Idol contestant and singer Rahul Vaidya's decade-old tweet about Virat Kohli has gone viral over calling the Indian cricketer's fans jokers via an Instagram story. The tweet of Vaidya pertains to the 2015 World Cup semi-final against Australia at the Syndey Cricket Ground (SCG) when Kohli managed only 1 run and India lost comprehensively.

Kohli, 36, was recently involved in a controversy as he liked Avneet Kaur's 'bold' photos and clarified that it was due to an 'algorithm' glitch. Following that, Vaidya shared a controversy stating that it also might have been due to an 'algorithm glitch', referring back to the controversy involving Avneet Kaur. Later, the 37-year-old singer called Kohli's fans jokers over abusing him.

Meanwhile, below is the 10-year-old tweet of Vaidya that has gone viral on social media. Vaidya praised MS Dhoni for his valiant innings of 65 amid India's 95-run defeat to Australia and also dragged his now-wife Anushka Sharma.

Despite that performance, the Delhi-born cricketer is one of the best performers when it comes to World Cups. With 1795 runs in 37 matches at 59.83, he is the second-highest run-getter in World Cup history. With 765 runs in 2023 World Cup, he holds the record for most runs in a single edition.

Virat Kohli is the current custodian of the Orange Cap

As far as the history of IPL goes, he is the highest run-getter with 8509 runs in 263 fixtures and has played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) since the start of the tournament. With 973 runs under his belt in the 2016 edition, he holds the record for the most runs in a single season of IPL.

Kohli's form has been pivotal in RCB being at the top of the points table with eight wins in 11 matches so far. RCB have reached the finals thrice but lost all three but 2025 could be the year they break their trophy drought.
