Summer vacation season is right around the corner, and for many of us, this means peak travel season! And who doesn’t want to travel the world without the hassles of a visa? While we aren’t as lucky as Singaporeans or Japanese travellers, who can visit over 190 destinations without a visa, India still has a solid number of visa-free offerings from countries around the world.
According to the Henley Passport Index 2025, India now ranks 81st, dropping one spot from 80th in 2024. This change means Indian passport holders can travel visa-free to 58 countries. While it’s a slight dip, there’s still a wide range of countries you can explore without needing a visa. However, some countries still require electronic travel authorisations or provide visas on arrival.Visa-Freee Countries For Indians
Many popular holiday destinations still welcome Indian travellers without a visa. Indonesia, Thailand, Maldives, Mauritius, and Kenya are among the top choices, offering everything from stunning beaches to rich cultural experiences, and they’re all just a short flight away.
If you're looking to go off the beaten path, consider Laos, Fiji, Madagascar, or Zimbabwe. These countries are known for their natural beauty, adventure tourism, and wildlife. Closer to home, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka remain easy escapes for Indian travellers since you don’t even need to plan too much in advance to go to these neighbouring destinations.
A few surprising options are also on the list: Qatar, Jordan, Kazakhstan, and Iran allow Indian travellers to enter either visa-free or with a visa on arrival, making them great for last-minute summer getaways!
