A favourite, Ben Price, best known for his role as Nick Tilsley, recently sustained an unexpected mishap at his residence. The actor relayed the incident during an episode of the "On The Sofa" podcast, which he co-hosts alongside fellow cast members Jack P Shepherd (David Platt) and Colson Smith (Craig Tinker). Ben recounted the event that unfolded after he encountered a deceased rodent while cleaning beneath his oven-an episode that led him up to the attic.

While inspecting for more mice, he narrated: "I go up into the loft to see if I can see any evidence of mice. I walk one length of the roof and I'm coming back." However, chaos ensued when he lost footing, detailing: "As I'm coming back, I stumble and trip. I put my foot on what was the wooden beam, and I missed. I put my foot straight through and I've fallen through the ceiling."

In the aftermath, his bathroom was swamped with debris: "There was not one bit-the shower, the loo, the tiles, the floor-that wasn't covered." In a dash of panic, he alerted his wife, exclaiming: "You just need to know something, you just need to know something! I've put my foot through the ceiling". Although he swiftly initiated a clean-up operation, it coincided with ongoing repairs to his oven, reports the

Ben added that this blunder has now led his wife to suggest a full bathroom makeover.

Ben has won the hearts of viewers as a preferred character on Coronation Street. The actor made his debut on the iconic Cobbles in 2009, portraying Nick Tilsley, and has been pivotal in some of the soap's key plots.

He was entangled in a gripping love triangle featuring his on-screen partner Leanne Battersby and her sister, Toyah.

Off-screen, Ben enjoys a much calmer existence, happily married to fellow thespian Alexandra Wheeler. The couple first crossed paths during their time in the theatre production 'On The Razzle,' and have since expanded their family with two children.

Family is Ben's top priority, as evidenced by his brief departure from Coronation Street in 2017 to spend more time with his loved ones.

During an emotional appearance on This Morning he confessed: "I'm going to leave for my family. It's been amazing, I've loved the show. Amazing people, I've had extraordinary storylines, and it could not have been any better.

"I live 200 miles away. I see my wife and children on a Saturday, and I go back on a Sunday. It took me quite a while to think about it. It's a big decision, but in the end, it's my family and I miss them."
