After the air strike by the Indian Air Force on terrorist camps in Pakistan and POJK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir), a fake notice went viral on social media. It was claimed in this notice that there are "war-like conditions" in the country, and all the exams have been cancelled. Also, students were advised to return to their homes immediately. This rumour spread panic among students and parents.
However, the University Grants Commission (UGC) immediately reacted to this and said that this notice is completely fake and students should not believe any kind of misinformation.
The exam has not been cancelled
UGC posted from its official X account and wrote, "A fake public notice in the name of UGC is going viral, stating that all exams have been cancelled. We clarify that UGC has not made any such announcement. This notice is completely fake."

UGC said that all official information is released only on the UGC website and social media handles. Spreading such rumours is a legal offence, and strict action can be taken against it.
Rumours spread after Operation Sindoor.
This fake notice went viral just after Operation Sindoor, in which the Indian Army carried out precision strikes on 9 terrorist hideouts in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Top terrorists of organisations like Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were reported to be present in these hideouts.
Appeal to students
UGC has appealed to all students and parents to trust only official sources and stay away from rumors. The examinations will be held as per the scheduled schedule.
