Chaos unfolded in Paris on Wednesday night during and after Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League semi-final clash with Arsenal, which ended in a 3-1 aggregate win for the French side. French police were forced to deploy tear gas after unrest broke out following Fabian Ruiz’s opening goal in the 27th minute.

Footage posted on X showed large groups of unruly fans gathering outside the Parc des Princes, swarming a bus as tensions rose. Riot police quickly intervened, dispersing the crowd after objects were hurled in their direction.

Additional video footage captured tear gas grenades deployed on the same street as authorities worked to restore order. the situation escalated sharply after PSG took the lead, with police presence intensifying throughout the evening. In total, 2,000 officers had been deployed for the high-profile match, with security forces called into action even before kick-off to push back large crowds.

Following the final whistle, further clashes occurred as PSG fans took to the streets in celebration of their side’s progression to the final, where they will face Inter Milan on May 31.One police officer was seen firing a warning shot into the air before charging toward fans to disperse the gathering.

PSG overcome Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain reached their second UEFA Champions League final after a composed 2-1 win over Arsenal in the second leg of their semifinal on Wednesday night, sealing a 3-1 aggregate victory. Goals from Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi, along with a commanding performance by goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, helped the French champions navigate a nervy start and ultimately outclass the Premier League side at Parc Des Princes.

PSG's 3-1 win over the two legs sets up a mouthwatering final in Munich on May 31 against Inter Milan, who edged out Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate in the other semifinal.
