Amid soaring tensions between India and Pakistan extensive planning is underway across the country. Civilians are participating in mock drill trainings to stay prepared for a potential war-like situation. Many people are also adjusting their plans either cancelling or postponing them as the nation remains on high alert with intensified security and rigorous drills in place.
The same happened with actor Rajkummar Rao and his team associated with the film Bhool Chuk Maaf. The movie which was scheduled for a theatrical release on Thursday May 9 has now been cancelled. Instead it will premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video on May 16 2025. This last-minute change has surprised fans but there’s a clear reason behind it.
Maddock Films in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios issued a statement explaining the shift: “In light of recent events and heightened nationwide security drills we have decided to take the OTT route.”
Producer Dinesh Vijan emphasised that the decision was made keeping public safety and accessibility in mind.
Bhool Chuk Maaf stars Rajkummar Rao Wamiqa Gabi Seema Pahwa Sanjay Mishra Raghubir Yadav and Zakir Hussain. Music is composed by Tanishk Bagchi with the score by Ketan Sodha.
Meanwhile most of the Indians were a part of mock drills that took place in several cities across India on Wednesday (May 7) as part of a nationwide civil defence exercise. It aims to assess Indias emergency response readiness amid rising tensions with Pakistan.
In the early hours of Wednesday India launched Operations Sindoor and targeted nine terror sites across Pakistan and PoK where terrorist attacks against India were planned or directed.
This was an answer to the terrorists after the horrifying terror attack in Kashmirs Pahalgam region that took place on April 22 where 26 civilians were killed.
